Partner Countries

MP_0000_Vietnam_headThe German-Vietnamese Manager Training Programme prepares executives from Vietnam for business relations and economic cooperations with German companies – with success on both sides. The participants come from companies with foreign trade potential wishing to establish contact with Germany. The focus is on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). According to the motto of “Fit for Partnership with Germany”, the participants undertake a one-month programme in Germany. A group comprises around 20-25 participants. During their stay, they develop their management expertise, gain an insight into German business practices and systematically establish contacts with German companies. The programme is aimed at executives from the middle and upper management levels of Vietnamese companies and is in principle open to all branches.

Decisive to the programme’s success is the right mix of imparting knowledge and business practice.

Outcomes and perspectives to date

The results are extremely promising so far: agreements worth millions have been reached. A variety of cooperation projects have been established. The programme also provides ideas for the modernization or restructuring of processes. The alumni work facilitates a long-term exchange with German industry and among programme participants.

Bilateral agreements between the two countries

The government agreement for the advanced training programme was signed in March 2008. The programme is financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi). The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH was appointed General Manager for coordination from the German side and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) from the Vietnamese side.
